Friends:

On Monday of this coming week, August 1st, the annual Youth Pilgrimage to Walsingham will get under way at Our Lady’s shrine. Hundreds of young pilgrims will arrive for the week to share the joyful good news of the Gospel of God’s mercy in seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus, Mary’s Son, as they grow in holiness of life. I am asking that you pray with intention this week for the success of this pilgrimage and particularly for three of the young people who will be there: there Christian names being SHANNON, JAMES and SHANNON as they are being sponsored by us as “godparents.” The following prayers are suggested for our use as associates:

HEAVENLY FATHER,
SEND YOUR BLESSING ON ALL WHO ARE GATHERED IN WALSINGHAM THIS WEEK.
MAY THESE DAYS BE FILLED WITH JOY, HOPE AND LOVE.
WITH ALL THE PILGRIMS WHO ARE GATHERED FOR “MERCY WORKS” I PRAY THAT SHANNON, JAMES AND SHANNON MAY BE HELD IN YOUR CARE,
AND EXPERIENCE THE GRACE OF A LIFE LIVED IN FRIENDSHIP WITH YOU.
SEND YOUR HOLY SPIRIT UPON THEM THAT THEY MAY SET THEIR FEET ON THE WAY THAT LEADS TO LIFE, AND WITH MARY AND
ALL THE SAINTS GIVE GLORY TO YOU.
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN.

LORD GOD,
YOUR SON JESUS IS YOUR WORK OF MERCY, GOODNESS AND LOVE.
AS YOUR GIFTS ARE SHARED AT WALSINGHAM THIS WEEK,
STRENGTHEN THE FAITH OF ALL PILGRIMS,
HELP THEM TO SING YOUR PRAISE,
AND SEND THEM IN YOUR SPIRIT TO WORK MERCY TO OTHERS.

You may wish to add these prayers to your intention each day when reciting the “ANGELUS” or, of course, when present at the offering of the Holy Mass.
