It is with sadness that I share with you the news of the sudden death of our brother associate Edward Powell. I learned of Ed’s death just before entering time in retreat early last week.
You will want to pray for the repose of his soul as he makes his final journey in the company of Jesus in whom he trusted in this life knowing Him to be a merciful Savior. A Requiem Mass will be offered on his behalf at Saint James’ Church at 11:00 A M on Tuesday, JUNE 13th. It would be a most charitable act for associates to join in this offering. For those at a great distance from Saint James, you may wish to offer a recitation of the Rosary at that time in praying for him.
In this life Ed was a faithful member of Saint James’ parish, serving on the vestry as Warden, and singing Sunday by Sunday with the choir. His presence will be missed among us, both as friend and Associate of Our Lady of Walsingham.
May the intercession of Our Lady of Walsingham avail much for the repose of Ed’s soul. And may the angels lead him into paradise, with the martyrs at his coming receiving Ed, bringing him into the holy city Jerusalem.
+Jesu mercy, Mary pray.
