On Sunday, August 2nd, during the Solemn Mass at Saint James’ Anglican Catholic Church, Cleveland, John Das of Saint Mary’s, Akron, having indicated his desire to become an Associate of Our Lady of Walsingham, will be received as such.  I know how pleased he would be to have our parish associates present with him as he is received, and of course you will want to keep him in your prayers as we pray for one another surrounded always by the intercessions of Our Lady and all the Saints.  The admission takes place during Mass just prior to the offertory as we gather at the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.  

With the start of the month of August we are reminded that August is the month of the Assumption, that feast of Our Lady falling on Saturday, August 15th.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 in the morning at Saint James with due solemnity honoring Mary, Mother of our Lord and God, who is brought to heaven, body and soul, by her dear Son.  Prior to Mass the Rosary will be recited at the Walsingham Shrine at 9:30.  Since it has been sometime since keeping the Easter feast with due preparation in the making of one’s confession, our preparing for the celebration of the Assumption should include a careful examination of conscience and recourse to this sacrament.  Jesu mercy, Mary pray.
